For the models, there exists an ever-expanding highway of opportunity, through consistently high standards of interaction with each client, we are offering our most dedicated models ample commercial opportunities -more regularly than many agencies can provide in the marketplace.

Halo Agency is building a reputation for relentlessly refining, and redefining the industry standard for quality staff and customer service. All interaction with Halo Agency is perceived to be a quality experience, hence as a model, you can expect a great deal of respect through any association with us.

Payment for work is under an ABN arrangement where Halo acts as an agent between the client and the model, this means that we pass your costs onto the client. Once the client pays the invoice, you are then paid directly and immediately. We do NOT take any commission from your earnings. Some clients are on a 30-60 day account with Halo and models will be informed if payment will take more than 21 days. In some instances you will be paid early, however it will vary with each client.

Halo Agency is recognised for paying above average rates to all our models.Pay is scheduled for processing each fortnight of the month on a Thursday.

Even if you do not receive an assignment from us for a few weeks, it does not mean we are not putting you foward for work. We will always tell you if there is something preventing you from being selected, such as insufficient images. Our clients decide who is selected for the jobs. The best you can do is assist us to have the best images and showreels on file.

If we believe you have good prospects for success, and a great look; we will arrange images for you in many instances.

don't 'sell yourself short'

Too many girls in this industry end up 'stuck in a rut' or worse, doing anything and wearing anything, anywhere, anytime just to get a little exposure in a magazine or at an event or photo shoot. Just remember that people won't pay good money for something that is common, trashy or desperate.

Exclusivity is a good thing, of course it is hard to get ahead when you are not well-known. So keep the following in mind.

1) Develop your portfolio in private - don't publish so many images of yourself that you become 'common' especially when starting out - you will look bad. Dont forget anything placed online is available forever so only put your BEST images out there or they'll come back to haunt you.

2) When over 90% of the 'industry' people are likely amateur photographers, amateur models or amateur agents, just remember that 90% of what happens will lead nowhere or have very mediocre results. This is a fact most people are unwilling to acknowledge - so be realistic in your approach.

3) Once you have a good folio, and great shots, the right people WILL take notice. So make a good impression when introducing yourself and your portfolio. An over inflated ego is your worst enemy when trying to make an impression. Remember all good agents know exactly what they want and exactly what they dont want. You have about fifteen seconds to make a lasting impression.

1) If you are having trouble getting good jobs - there
IS a reason and you should be OPEN minded about those reasons. Halo Agency will have no problem telling you honestly what we think of your work and why you are not succeeding; and how to solve it. Even good images don't make up for a warped attitude! And remember - what you think are great images can be judged very differently by professionals.

2) Many aspiring models and promotions staff focus so heavily on becoming popular in the 'industry' and developing 'networks' of contacts at any expense... this usually doesn't make you a better model or get you more work, it may even suggest you are desperate.
Remember - agents talk to each other - often.

3) If you get caught up in being unreliable, complaining, petty battles and 'industry-girl' gossip, you will get nowhere. Lesser models and 'industry girls' are notorius for big egos, gossip and story-telling. Your image is everything so be professional, don't take anything on face-value and don't gossip! It's your reputation that gets dirty when you try to ruin others'!

4) Keep your head down, work well, be professional and polite, create good images and you will STAND OUT. If you are not getting results - we can tell you why. An independent opinion will fill in the blanks that friends and relatives may omit.

Professional images are not always necessary; a Polaroid, snapshot or digital picture is fine. Halo prefers images in various natural poses against a plain white wall or non-distracting background.

The face should be bare or with minimal makeup. Photos should include some with hair up and some with hair down. Include measurements (bust, waist, hips, and height).

. A serious interest in modeling.
. Females between the ages of 13 and 25.
. Girls 13-15 who are at least 5'7" (170 cm)
. Girls 16 and older who are 5'9 (175 cm) to 6'0" (183 cm)
. Have parental consent if you are under 18 years of age.


Tall models are generally required for clothing and fashion-related work, hence the height and size requirements are strict, especially if the fashions are to be showcased on the runway.

Often models are used to improve the retail image and perceived status of a company's brand or product. These models are almost always selected for their appearance above all else.

Why are celebrities often used to endorse products that they have no expertise in evaluating?

Because attractive people are often judged as having a more desirable personality and more skills than someone of average appearance.

We will rarely respond to queries that are not accompanied by appropriate images and contact details including a phone number.

This is because we will have to spend time chasing the details, images and contact number.

The subject line is a valuable way of getting our attention, include your height here in any initial application if you are over 5' 8" or 173cm. This is because many applicants are shorter than we require.
